Charlie Mullin (Warren Township Assessor), will discuss recent tax raises…the why & wherefore. Also Anne Brennen, County Board candidate for 13th District will give an update on her campaign.

Extraordinary times make ordinary people extraordinary.  We often perceive our Founding Fathers and the early Patriots as extraordinary, and rightfully so.  However, they were just like you and I.  They were farmers, tradesmen, lawyers, ministers, shop owners, and teachers.  They were people who became fed up with burdensome taxes and too much government intervention into their lives.  They believed a government should work for the people and not the other way around.  They held firm in their convictions that liberty was pre-ordained by God, not granted by a whim of the government.  They encouraged free thinking.  They felt people should be free to work hard and prosper.  They were just like you and I, but with one significant difference; they decided to do something about their circumstances.  That is the spirit we look to foster in the Warren Township Republican Organization.

Now, we don’t claim to have a Samuel Adams or Patrick Henry among us but we share the same ire they felt over two hundred years ago.  Our aim is to help good candidates that share our values so they can produce positive and meaningful change.  We’re tired of candidates who sound like Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail but vote like Barney Frank once elected.  We’re tired of elected officials who vote for their own self-preservation and not on principle.  We’re tired of elected officials who have an air of entitlement when we expect them to perform their duties with a servant’s heart.  Yet we will always appreciate our solid Republican office holders and candidates and will go the limit in helping them get elected. 

However, in order to change the tide in our township, our county, our state, and our nation, we need your help.  Come join us, the neighborhood Republicans, and help us get our common values re-established in our society.  This will take time and effort.  All of us in the Warren Township Republican Organization are working folks with families just like you.  And just like you, we have time constraints and numerous obligations.  However, we no longer ask “Why me?”  When it’s time to do something; we ask “If not me, then who?”  So in that spirit, I ask you to remember John Paul Jones as he was building the newly established United States Navy when he said, “The stature of our homeland is no more than a measure of ourselves.  So sign on young man and sail with me”.  We owe it to the Founding Fathers and the original Patriots who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.  More than that, we owe it to our families.
